Brigadier General to Speak on Partnership Between Military and Community

The Camden Partnership, Inc. (TCP) will be hosting its second annual "A Community That Cares" breakfast from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 11th, at the Laurel Island Links Golf Club, to thank its many donors and supporters.

The executive director of the Georgia Military Affairs Coordinating Committee (GMACC), retired Army Brigadier General Phil Browning will be speaking on why it is important to have a strong partnership between the local community and the military.  He will also update attendees on the status of Georgia's 13 military bases.

For several years, The Camden Partnership has been working in conjunction with the local community and city officials to help support Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.

"It's important for The Camden Partnership to recognize the support of the community and its leaders," says Walt Yourstone, president of TCP.  "We are having this breakfast to thank our benefactors.  It's also an opportunity to let community leaders know what The Camden Partnership is all about."

Sheila McNeill, TCP board member, past national president of The Navy League of the United States and owner of Sheila's Hallmark in St. Marys, is passionate about increasing missions at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.

"In order to remain healthy as a community, we must remain engaged," she said.

This breakfast is a salute to all of those who have helped the Camden Partnership to do so.

The theme for the breakfast is "The importance of partnership among Camden County, Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, and the Georgia Military Affairs Coordinating Committee (GMACC)."

There is no charge for this event.  R. S. V. P. by Friday, October 6th to Marty Klumpp at martyklumpp@tds.net or 912.227.2148.
